We are convinced that this award will be a step further in achieving our goals. It is definitely to boost self-confidence and continue to push and deliver better quality products in the coming years.

Tomislav Duvnjak, owner

The Croatian manufacturer has picked up the Gold Award for Organic Medium Blend and the Silver Award for Organic Sensitive Blend, both of which are sold under the Sv. Marka Ivan.

“Everyone in our team feels extremely proud and enthusiastic, especially because this was the first time we participated in NYIOOC”, said owner Tomislav Duvnjak. “We are convinced that this award will be a step further in achieving our goals. It is definitely raising self-confidence and further pushing and delivering better quality products in the coming years.”

In the 2019/20 season The company used traditional methods to produce 2,000 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil from the olives of Oblica, Frantoio, Leccino and Levantinka.

Despite their first successful season at the World Olive Oil Competition, Duvnjak said the hot start to the year provided a lot of challenges to overcome.

“2019. the year was very specific, ”he said. “During the flowering phase in the spring, the unexpected heat withered most of the flowers. So we had significantly less fruit in the harvest season than expected. ”

“However, the reduction in the amount of fruit has resulted in a particularly high quality of oil,” he added. “Less fruit led to a better result, which is proof of this award.”

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held every spring in New York City, is the world’s largest and most prestigious olive oil competition and its annual list of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the best extra virgin olive oils of the year.

You can see the complete list of winners on the official index of the world’s best olive oils.
